Chinese Eye Fillet

Tender melt in your mouth Chinese fillet steak.


• 1 fallow or sambar eye fillet
• 1/4 cup light soy sauce
• 1/4 cup mirin
• 1/4 teaspoon garlic and ginger
• 2 tablespoon brown sugar
• 1 tablespoon plan flour
• 1/4 teaspoon Chinese five spice


1. Mix all ingredients together in bowl
2. Add cleaned eye fillet
3. Cover in marinade
4. Leave to marinade for 12hr / if cant 1hr will do
5. Heat oil in pan until hot add eye fillet
6. Turn after a minute each side until all cooked wont take long if you like medium
7. Take fillet out rest on plate for a few minutes before slicing
8. Poor rest off marinade into pan a heat up slowly until thickens.
9. You can use sauce as a dipping sauce or poor over fillet
10. Serve as is or with a salad or veg
